Sony WF-1000XM4 True Wireless Earphones Specifications and Features Revealed in Leaked Promo Video

The Sony WF-1000XM4 True Wireless Stereo (TWS) headphones are expected to be launched in 2021, and several leaks and reveals have shed light on what to expect. The latest true wireless earbuds from the Japanese electronics conglomerate are expected to be the most premium and feature-packed yet, and a new leaked promotional video reveals the features and specifications expected to come with the new earbuds. In addition to active noise cancellation and access to the Google Assistant, which was even on the Sony WF-1000XM3, the Sony WF-1000XM4 will have a renewed design and new features such as wireless charging and talk-to-chat, according to a functional upgrade. The new video, which can be viewed below, was posted on YouTube’s Sparrows News channel, which has previously leaked promotional videos for Sony’s audio products, including the Sony WH-1000XM4 on-ear headphones. The video follows several leaks that have already revealed the design of the Sony WF-1000XM4 headphones and also revealed some of the features and specifications. It confirms the presence of key features, including active noise cancellation, wireless charging and talk to chat on the Sony WF-1000XM4.

The Sony WF-1000XM4 is expected to get some big design changes from the Sony WF-1000XM3, which launched in India in 2020 for Rs. 19999. The new headphones are smaller, but retain the basic functions and capabilities, and even add some new ones. These features include wireless charging, a popular feature commonly used in premium TWS earbuds now, as well as the talk-to-chat feature that was introduced with the Sony WH-1000XM4 in late 2020. Other highlights shown in the video include the new Sony Integrated V1 processor that replaces the QN1e processor in the WF-1000XM3, adaptive volume controls, IPX4 water resistance and up to 8 hours of battery life in the headphones, with the total battery claimed. Lifespan of up to 24 hours when the charging case is included. According to the video, Sony’s 360 Reality Audio audio format will also be compatible with the headphones.

The Sony WF-1000XM4 will face stiff competition in the true premium wireless segment, including the old but still capable Apple AirPods Pro, Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro and Jabra Elite 85t. Sony could go for a similar price to the WF-1000XM3 at around Rs. 20,000 in India, to compete against Samsung and Jabra which are priced below Rs. 20000.
