Huawei MatePad Pro 5G was revealed as an answer to the company on iPad Pro. It was announced during a scheduled live broadcast after Huawei canceled the launch event in Barcelona, and the latest tablet comes from the Chinese company with a smart magnetic keyboard and a stylus called Huawei M-Pencil. Yes, you can compare the latter with the Apple Pencil. Besides the MatePad Pro 5G, Huawei introduced the MateBook X Pro 2020 as an upgraded version of what was launched last year. The new laptop comes with 10th generation Intel Core processors and features a green option. The MateBook D 14 and MateBook D 15 initially launched in China were brought to the western regions.
The price of Huawei MatePad Pro 5G and MateBook X Pro 2020
The price of Huawei MatePad Pro 5G is 799 € (about 62,300 rupees). Huawei also announced the Wi-Fi version of the MatePad Pro with a 6GB and 128GB storage configuration at a starting price of 549 euros (about 43,000 rupees), while the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model with the M-Pencil was priced at 749 euros ( About 56,400 rupees). Both configurations can also be chosen with LTE support – No M-Pencil – at 599 € (about 46,700 rupees) and 699 € (around 54,500 rupees) respectively. Customers can also purchase M-Pencil separately at € 99 (around Rs. 7,700). The smart keyboard on the other side is 129 euros (about 10,000 rupees). The Wi-Fi version of the tablet will be available for purchase starting in April. However, there are no details on the availability of the 5G version. The tablet comes with Afterglow Orange and Forest Green color options.
Huawei originally launched the MatePad Pro with 4G LTE and Wi-Fi options only in China with a starting price of 3,299 Chinese yuan (about 33,800 rupees).
On the other hand, the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2020 is priced at 1,499 euros (about 15,300 rupees) for the base version that contains an Intel Core i5 processor plus 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD. It will be available for purchase starting in April with emerald green, space gray, and mystic silver color options.
Huawei MatePad Pro 5G and MateBook X Pro 2020 initially come to European markets. The price and availability details of the new India have not yet been revealed.
Besides launching the MatePad Pro 5G and MateBook X Pro 2020, Huawei announced the global expansion of the MateBook D 14 and MateBook D 15. Both mobile models were launched in China in November last year.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 5G runs on Android 10 with EMUI 10.1 and has a 10.8-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600 pixel) display that features a perforated design to save space for your selfie camera. In addition, there is the Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 990 SoC octa-core, along with GP-16 Mali-G76 GPU, Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and 8GB RAM. The tablet also has 256GB and 512GB internal storage options expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB).
Huawei has presented a 13-megapixel rear camera setup on the MatePad Pro 5G that comes with an f / 1.8 lens and autofocus support. There is also an 8 MP camera sensor at the front with an f / 2.0 lens.
Connectivity options in the MatePad Pro 5G 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS / A-GPS and USB Type-C. The tablet also has the ability to stream content on a large screen. Sensors on the MatePad Pro 5G include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, color temperature sensor, gyroscope, magnetic scale, and proximity sensor. The tablet has a 7,250mAh battery and supports 27W wireless charging as well as reverse charging up to 7.5W. It also has 40W SuperCharge support. Besides, it measures 246 x 159 x 7.99mm and weighs 492g.
In terms of features, Huawei MatePad Pro 5G delivers improved productivity through multi-screen collaboration that allows drag and drop file transfers between smartphones and tablets. There is also a Multi-Window feature that allows you to open up to three applications simultaneously. Moreover, the device comes pre-loaded with the feature of doubling the apps that divides one app into two windows.
MatePad Pro 5G does not include Google Play services, including Google Play Store. However, the company claims to offer over 1,000 apps through its own store.
Similar to the latest Apple Pencil, the M-Pencil supports wireless charging by magnetic contact with your tablet and provides a 10-minute backup in just half a minute of charging. It is also claimed that the pen provides about 10 hours of use for a full fee. Moreover, Huawei’s smart keyboard works similarly to how Smart Keyboard Folio for iPad Pro works and gets power directly from the tablet.
Huawei MateBook X Pro 2020 specifications, features
Huawei MateBook X Pro 2020 comes with a 13.9-inch FullView screen (3000 x 2000 pixels) providing a 91 percent display. The display input-supporting display panel also has a 3: 2 aspect ratio and 100% sRGB color gamut. Under the hood, the laptop has the option of getting a tenth-generation Core i5-10210U or Core i7-10510U processor, along with Nvidia GeForce MX250 or Intel UHD graphics and up to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM. There is also up to 1 TB of NVMe PCIe SSD.
Huawei introduced a full-size backlit keyboard plus a power button equipped with a fingerprint sensor and a touchpad that supports multi-touch input. The notebook also contains four speakers and four microphones for an enhanced multimedia experience. Moreover, it comes with a pop-up web camera that works similarly to how the webcam works on the latest MagicBook models offered by Huawei’s sub-brand Honor.
Connectivity options in the MateBook X Pro 2020 include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0 and NFC. There are also two USB Type-C ports with support for data transfer and charging, DisplayPort, USB-A 3.0 port and 3.5mm headphone jack.
